Find the Right Keywords

Start with a few seed keywords that describe your product or service, then expand them into related phrases using a keyword tool that shows search volume, difficulty and traffic potential (HubSpot).

Prioritise terms with modest difficulty and clear intent; these are more likely to rank quickly and can also trigger AI Overview features when they match user queries (Semrush, Ahrefs).

Map Search Intent and AI Overviews

Analyse the SERP for each target keyword to understand whether users expect informational, navigational or transactional content, and note any AI Overview boxes that appear (Semrush).

Tailor your post to answer the exact question the overview addresses, using concise headings, bullet points and data that Google can pull into the AI snippet.

Create E‑E‑A‑T‑Driven Content

Write a detailed outline that fills gaps left by the top results, then fill it with original research, citations and clear author bios to signal expertise, authority and trustworthiness (Backlinko).

Maintain readability by using short paragraphs, sub‑headings and varied sentence length, while naturally incorporating your primary and secondary keywords.

Optimise On‑Page Elements

Place the primary keyword in the title tag, meta description, first 100 words and at least one H2; also include related terms in image alt text and URL slugs.

Add structured data such as FAQ schema to give Google extra context and increase the chance of rich‑result placement.

Build Topic Clusters and Earn Links

Group posts around a core pillar page, linking each supporting article back to the pillar to reinforce topical relevance and improve crawl efficiency (HubSpot).

Promote your content to industry partners, guest‑post on reputable sites and encourage natural backlinks, which remain the strongest ranking signal.
