If you searched for a Slack and Ergora integration, here is the short version. Today, Ergora can post messages to a Slack channel through an incoming webhook. The fuller Slack app, which would read channels and reply on mention, is on Ergora's integrations roadmap and is not live yet. This page covers what works now, what does not and how to bridge the gap.
What works today: posting to a Slack channel
The Social Suite in the Content pack can publish to Slack as one of its destinations. You create an incoming webhook in Slack, paste its URL into Ergora, and the Social Suite can send messages to the channel that webhook points at.
- In Slack, open api.slack.com/apps, create or choose an app, and add an incoming webhook to the channel you want.
- In Ergora's Social Suite, open the connections panel, choose Slack and paste the webhook URL. You can also set the name the messages are posted under.
- Ergora checks the URL is a valid Slack webhook, then Slack appears as a destination in the composer.
From there you can write a message once, keep a Slack-specific version next to your other channels, attach an image, and schedule it or send it for approval first. Messages can be up to 40,000 characters, which is Slack's limit.
This is useful for sharing announcements, launch notes or published content with a team channel without leaving Ergora.
What is not live yet
The Slack app that most people mean by an integration is on the roadmap. Until it ships, Ergora does not:
- read your Slack channels or summarise conversations,
- watch for keywords and raise alerts from Slack activity,
- reply when someone mentions it, or
- send direct messages.
Each of those needs the Slack app, which is waiting on its platform approval. Ergora has not published a date, so check the integrations page for the current status instead of relying on a blog post.
Bridging the gap today
If you want events from Slack to reach Ergora, the supported route is a webhook. Every Ergora workspace has inbound webhook URLs, and tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n and IFTTT can send events to them. That moves data in one direction at a time and needs you to set up the automation, but it works without waiting for the app. The integrations page explains the options.
When Slack posting is the right fit
Posting to a webhook suits a team that wants Ergora's output to land in a channel: published articles, campaign announcements, a weekly note. It does not suit a team that wants an assistant living inside Slack. For that, wait for the app.
