The Website Bug Checker is a free tool from Ergora for small business owners that opens your site in a real browser on a laptop and a phone and lists what is broken or slow in plain English.
Enter your website and a real browser visits it like a first-time customer, on a laptop and a phone. In about a minute you get a plain-English list of what is broken, what is slow and what to fix first.
Free, no sign-up. Read-only: we visit public pages and never fill in forms.
A checkout button that does nothing or a menu that will not open on a phone does not send you an error report. People just leave. Testing the way a stranger arrives catches the problems you stopped noticing because you always use the site the same way.
The checker only looks. It loads up to five public pages, never fills in or submits forms, never logs in and never places orders. It runs in a sealed browser with no access to anything private.
Your homepage on a laptop and a phone, then up to four key pages it finds in your navigation, such as pricing, products, contact and sign-up. It also checks up to 25 of the links on your homepage.
It opens those pages and checks them for errors, but it never types into forms or submits them, so it cannot create fake accounts, orders or enquiries on your site.
This check loads your site once, through a real browser on one of our servers, so timings vary with network conditions. Use it to spot pages that are clearly slow, and PageSpeed Insights for a repeatable lab score.
Each site gets one fresh scan a day. Running it again the same day shows the same report, which keeps the checker quick for everyone.
Every issue comes with a plain-English fix you can pass to whoever looks after your site. Most fall into a few groups: a broken plugin or tracking script, missing files after a redesign, old links, and theme settings for phones.
The report is kept for seven days so the link keeps working, then deleted. The screenshots show only your public pages.
A one-off scan shows today's problems. In Ergora the developer specialist keeps watch on your site, ties errors to the deploy that caused them, and tracks each fix in the repo and issue tracker you already use.
